What happened during the time of McCarthy is unjustified. To punish people just because they were suspected for helping the Communists is by no means fair. Even recently during the 9/11 attack same happened when the Bush administration captured the suspected Muslims and kept them in Guantanamo Bay and were treated in the cruellest manner. So these things cannot be justified in the name of the security of a nation. And therefore, I believe that employment has nothing to do with one’s beliefs. I can believe in Islam and still work for some Christian company.
